About Me
Like most in this industry, I loved books from the time I could read. I read any fantasy book I got my hands on. I also took piano lessons from when I was six years old until I graduated from high school. I didn’t like it much at first, but reached a turning point when I started learning songs from my favorite shows and video games. I did gradually develop a love for romantic classical music. I also joined my high school’s choir program, and in 2016 we sang at Carnegie Hall.
I attended the University of Guelph and earned a BA in Philosophy with honors. My part-time job at an auction house became full-time, and it was there that I gained my first professional writing experience crafting press releases. Some time after, I followed my love for music and became a piano teacher. I continue to balance music teaching as I edit engineering proposals, and pursue my MS in Book Publishing at Portland State University.
I’ll read almost any genre of fiction, but gothic and speculative fiction are my favorites. I love books that blur the line between reality and fantasy. I also enjoy a large, tightly woven plot, so my favorite book is The Count of Monte Cristo.
I breed crested geckos and love learning about steamships, and I am learning to play bass.
